   Under the general direction of the Associate Vice President of Student Diversity and Belonginh, the Director of Inclusion Initiatives is responsible for visionary, strategic development and implementation of comprehensive diversity, equity and inclusion programs designed to optimize staff/faculty/student outreach and recruitment, job and student satisfaction including but not limited to staff and student retention.Responsibilities of the Director of Inclusion Initiatives (DII) include partnering with the campus stakeholders and other leaders to develop and implement diversity, equity, inclusion and access strategies and programs that successfully engage, develop, attract and retain a diverse workforce and student body in a manner that fosters communication, understanding, cohesion, pride, inclusion and a sense of belonging across the Cal Poly Maritime Academy organization. This position acts as a cross-functional advisor and subject matter expert, influencing and guiding an authentic and meaningful diversity, equity and inclusion perspective in all internal and external-facing services, communications, and initiatives. The DII has full professional responsibility for assisting students to resolve any problem(s) that affects their ability to be successful in their educational and career pursuits and make appropriate referrals to campus services and other resources.
