I\'ve spent the better part of my career in recruitment, and I wouldn\'t swap where I am now for anything.Fire safety isn\'t the flashiest industry to most people — but once you\'re in it, you realise how much it matters. We\'re talking about the people who keep buildings compliant, who specify and install fire suppression systems, fire detection and alarm systems, and passive fire protection. The people who make sure that when something goes wrong, the right systems are in place to save lives.At Ventro, my job is to find those people — and to do it properly.I recruit across a wide range of roles. Fire engineers, fire risk assessors, compliance consultants, specialists in fire stopping, compartmentalisation, and sprinkler system design. Project managers, estimators, site managers, sales teams — it\'s a genuinely varied portfolio.What sets me apart is a consultative approach. I\'m not one for throwing CVs at hiring managers and hoping something sticks. I take real time to understand what each team needs — the technical requirements, the culture, the pace. I talk to candidates the same way. I want to understand where they want to go, not just where they\'ve been. If the fit isn\'t right, I\'ll tell you. That\'s how you build something that lasts.The UK fire safety sector is growing fast. Tighter building regulations, increased focus on fire compartmentalisation post-Grenfell, and enforcement from the Building Safety Regulator are all driving demand for experienced people.
