About Shahid Afridi

I am a recent postgraduate in Big Data Analytics with a strong interest in applying machine learning to real-world healthcare challenges, particularly in medical imaging and clinical decision-support systems.My academic work has focused on developing deep learning models for disease detection using medical imaging data. As part of my Master’s thesis, I worked on early Alzheimer’s disease classification using MRI image data by designing and evaluating convolutional neural network (CNN)–based models under imbalanced data conditions. This involved building imaging pipelines, analysing structural patterns across patient scans, and evaluating predictive performance using clinically relevant metrics.I am particularly interested in research directions that move beyond isolated prediction tasks toward patient-level outcome modelling by combining imaging data with physiological signals and structured clinical information. My long-term goal is to contribute to the development of reliable AI systems that can support medical decision-making in real-world clinical settings.
