BRI is a voluntary educational initiative working to facilitate education, necessary training and relevant hands-on experiences for volunteers interested in research works focused on Bengal, Bengali and Bengaliness. The initiative began its journey on 22 June 2019. The initiative currently consists of researchers, academics and enthusiasts from around the world; united by their love and commitment for Bengal and Bengalis. Different research projects are currently ongoing under five (05) different research themes, from supervision to field-work of which are carried out on a voluntary basis. All the necessary training and logistic supports for these projects are afforded from the donations made by the members. BRI welcomes any new project proposals those fall under its research themes. In that case, based on the membership application made by the interested researcher, the project is scrutinised and accepted. Furthermore, BRI welcomes individuals who intend to join as donor members for any ongoing projects.
