About Monsurul Huda
My experience and knowledge spans from Civil Engineering to Seismology. As a civil engineer I have experience working with Standard Penetration Test data in my undergraduate research. As a Project Engineer at my first job, I worked on foundation design, steel structure design, pavement construction and different aspects of Inland Container Terminal (ICT) construction project. In the next step of my professional career I had the opportunity to work on several complex projects in the Ganges-Brahmaputra-Meghna (GBM) delta. My work experience in the GBM delta includes river dredging volume computation, river discharge computation using ADCP, geo-referencing using ArcMap, development of computational hydraulic models for water resource management, bridge hydraulics, bridge scour and 2D river modeling.My experience in seismology spans in different sectors such as probabilistic seismic hazard, analysis of seismic data to infer different characteristics of seismic ground motion. I have experience in installing seismic stations and applying different geophysical survey techniques to determine underlying seismic parameters of the surveyed area. I have developed 3-dimensional velocity model and simulated large scale ground motion using high performance parallel computing systems. Efficiency in- Cartography software: Microstation, AutoCad - Spatial Analysis: ArcMap-10.6, Generic Mapping Tool- Programming languages: Python, C, Matlab, Bash scripting- Hydraulic Modeling Software: Mike 21, Mike 21C, HEC-RAS- Seismic Data Analysis: Pro-max, Seismic Unix- Office Packages: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point.
