About Kamil Akhter
Md Kamil Akhter is a native of Katihar, Bihar. He has pursued his basic education from government schools through BSEB (Bihar) board. He has received his Bachelor of Arts in Sanskrit honors from Aligarh Muslim University. He also got an opportunity to work with NGO (Jan Sahyog Foundation) as lead volunteer to work on a village of Katihar, Bihar of his own choice for a period of two months. Although, during his graduation he participated several programs as an organizer and as volunteer. He also conducted an awareness programme (SADBHAVNA) in Panchayat level in which consisted SDO, Professors, Head Masters, Teachers and the people of the community, in that program participated more than 140. Moving forward he got an opportunity to work with Gandhi fellowship under NITI Aayog’s aspirational district project to transform government education system of Begusarai, Bihar. Gandhi fellowship provided him a wide outlook, with different degrees of knowledge in a wide array of topics. Working in a conducive environment with a vibrant team further enabled him narrowing down objectives of his life along with equipping him with several skill sets such as facilitation, stakeholder management, team management, non-violent communication, government liasoning, coordination and management, project management, leadership skill. He is looking forward to work as a coaching and facilitator in education domain with a view to conceptualize and facilitate different development strategies to achieve life chances for one million child in the next decade.

Our ‘Make India Capable’ initiative was developed after studying the problems that youth living in poverty face. Without a second chance such as this, these youth tend to stay disconnected and stuck in poverty. Our program tackles the root of this issue by equipping them with the capabilities and skills that they need to feel empowered enough to pursue their aspirations and strive for financial security.
