About Kaisar Rahman
As a devoted and aspiring epidemiologist, my enthusiasm lies in unraveling the intricate connections at the human-animal-environment interface to comprehend and proactively mitigate diseases affecting both animals and humans. Currently, I am immersed in my doctoral journey in One Health Sciences, with a focus on Epidemiology, at the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine, where I actively contribute as a graduate research assistant. My research endeavors span a diverse range, including epidemiological disease surveillance and outbreak investigation on infectious diseases. I have engaged in studies such as antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance from NARMS, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, quantitative analysis and predictive modeling. Through these experiences, I have cultivated various skills, encompassing academic and proposal writing, statistical analysis using tools like R and STATA, as well as spatial analysis with ArcGIS Pro. My expertise extends to designing epidemiological studies and conducting quantitative and inferential analyses. Possessing innate leadership abilities, I excel in organizing committees, managing student associations, and taking the lead on research projects. My exceptional oral and written communication skills facilitate effective collaboration within diverse teams. My overarching goal is to channel these skills and experiences towards the prevention and control of emerging infectious and zoonotic diseases and antimicrobial resistance issues, with a steadfast commitment to enhancing the health and well-being of both animals and humans. Eager to contribute to the dynamic field of epidemiology, I aim to leverage my multifaceted background to make a meaningful impact on public health.
