About Michael McVey
During my K-12 career, I taught Special Education and English, designed several new courses, and served as a department chair. During my higher education career, I have been a web developer, instructional designer, director of technology services, clinical associate professor, and more. In my current position, I am a professor in the Teacher Education Department at Eastern Michigan University and serve the university in my role as Chair of the College of Education Council and as interim Senior International Officer. For the moment, my research agenda focuses on social media in higher education, visualization tools, and P-20 teacher belief and efficacy as a way of assessing readiness to implement technologies in the classroom. My work on Immersive Virtual Worlds is on hold as I am engaged in many other projects including the development of an international center, an urban education summit, writing an accreditation report, and serving as faculty senator and grad council representative.
