PRME is a United Nations-supported initiative founded in 2007 that aims to raise the profile of sustainability in business and management education through Seven Principles focused on serving society and safeguarding our planet. PRME believes that today’s corporate leaders need more than just business acumen to be successful. Through my role managing PRME programs, I oversee the Impactful Five (i5) project, generously funded by The LEGO Foundation. I work closely with partners to build on prior LEGO Foundation Learning Through Play research to develop and pilot pedagogical approaches for holistic skill set development to help the next generation of leaders address sustainable development. By targeting five key characteristics of learning to integrate sustainability skills into business schools, this pedagogy will train the next generation of CEOs, managers, and leaders to shape a workforce of lifelong learners equipped with contemporary skills needed to address today’s challenges. Previous experience includes working as an Education Manager with the SDG Academy, a program of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network and global initiative for the United Nations supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.I hold a Ph.D. Business Education for Sustainable Development - Accounting and Finance and a M.Sc. International Management and Global Business - Management and Marketing from the University of Limerick. My postgraduate research at the University of Limerick (IE) specialized in Business Education for Sustainable Development. I completed a Masters of Science degree in International Management and Global Business at UL, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management at Marietta College (US). After completing my thesis in September 2014, I worked as a module leader at the Kemmy Business School in subjects related to sustainable development, research methods, and corporate finance and accounting. Further tutorials and training programs lectured include PAWS/SPSS, STATA, NVivo.
