ABOUT DON MCLEOD

Don has over 25 years experience providing leadership in not for profit, public and faith based organizations and for over 15 years has served as a senior consultant and facilitator in the areas of organization development, public consultation and strategic planning. From 2009 to 2014 Don served as Vice President, Organization Effectiveness for Bethany Care Society, creating a new department which brought together Quality Services, Organization Development and Planning. Don also brings a systems perspective from his involvement in a number of governance roles within the Alberta health system. Don has a gift for facilitation that creates safe spaces for diverse groups to engage in deep dialogue and meaningful action. He has significant experience in leading public consultation processes for the social sector as well as for environmental impact assessments. He has also been involved in a number of multi-stakeholder community initiatives. Don is trained and certified as a facilitator by the Integral Strategy Network to lead and facilitate the Strategy Roadmap™ methodology, which is designed to support community initiatives focused on complex social challenges. In 2013-14 he was project lead and co-facilitator for the Age Friendly Calgary project that brought together twenty-five stakeholders to create an Age Friendly strategy for the City of Calgary. In 2014 he served as a co-facilitator for a community initiative to create a Dementia strategy for Calgary and area.
