Battalion CommanderBrigade Operation OfficerInspector GeneralAs a Safety Officer I work with a team of both Soldiers and civilians to plan, train, and conduct inspections in all aspects of workplace, OSHA, and personal safety. We are responsible for managing the implementation of Safety programs for 3 Divisions, 1 Brigade, and several High Tech Training Centers.As a Company Commander I commanded 240 Soldiers, Warrant Officers, and Officers (from Lieutenant to Major General) in the 80th Training Command. Served in this position as a Captain when it required a Major.As an Operations Officer for both the 48th Mechanized Infantry and the 80th Training Command I planned and assisted in management of Brigade level and above operational and tactical events. As a Fire Support Officer I was responsible for assisting the Commander and planning with indirect fire units practical training exercises that prepared the unit for combat.As a Battalion Maintenance Officer I deployed a Maintenance Company of 98 Soldiers and Warrant Officers to Iraq for combat duty. I gained and maintained a 90% or better combat operation readiness rate through aggressive management and tough decision making. Performed combat patrol and combat damage recovery duty of both American military/civilian personnel, both conventional and special forces, and Iraqi personnel (using my Arabic language knowledge gained at West Point)As an Executive Officer I redeployed an Armored Company from the combat zone to the United States to begin preparation for state side training in California and Louisiana. Performed duties as a trainer and observer/controller for other active Army units at the National Training Center.As a Platoon Leader I served in in the Iraq including the fist major conventional force to engage Iraqi units in battle. Constantly under fire, constantly awake, constantly providing leadership to my Soldiers, I successfully engaged and destroyed dismounted and armored units.
