ABOUT KATIE M.

I am a frontend-focused developer (happy to also work full-stack, but the bulk of my experience is frontend), working in typescript, nodes, javascript and python. I specialize in react (and its related frameworks like nextjs), though in previous projects I have also built full systems based on, for example, React/GraphQL/Flask/MySQL.I am interested in learning as much as I possibly can and increasing my fluency in the entire journey from security and dev-ops, to data, to performant APIs, to the frontend presented to the end-user. Because, at the end of the day, learning new things, building things, and solving problems is what gets me out of bed in the morning. I\'m currently open for freelancing contracts or permanent positions in the Berlin area or remote, GMT+1 timezone.I am interested in a challenge. After five years and a successful career as a mechanical engineer, I found myself no longer learning at the company where I worked, so it was time for a change. I had been interested in software development as a hobby for some time, so I decided to take the step and explore coding as a career- it has been a great fit for me. I love that it is a learning career- I am challenged to always stay on top of new technologies and expand and adapt my skills. If you\'re looking to hire technical people, what they can ALREADY do is certainly important. but almost more important is finding someone curious, who has a passion to learn, and is not only willing but excited to face new challenges and solve problems. My current stack is- react- NextJS-Typescript- nodeJS- redux/mobx- tailwind / Sass / material UI- gatsby- Auth0- express JS- GraphQL- Flask- python 3
