About Mark McDade

Mark McDade co-founded Qiming Venture Partners USA in January 2017 and has over 30 years of successful operating experience in private and public healthcare and life science companies. Prior to Qiming, Mark was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at UCB, the Brussels, Belgium-based global biopharma.Previously, Mark served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and a director of PDL Biopharma and led Signature Bioscience as its CEO. Mark was also a founder and director of Corixa Corporation, where he served as COO and then President and COO. Earlier in his career, Mark was COO of Boehringer Mannheim Therapeutics, the biopharmaceutical division of Corange, Ltd. Prior to that, he held several positions of increasing responsibility at Sandoz Ltd.(now part of Novartis), including business development, product management and general management.Mark is on the boards of several of Qiming\'s portfolio companies, notably serving as chairman of the board of Icosavax (Nasdaq: ICVX). He previously served as chairman of the board at Aimmune Therapeutics until its acquisition by Nestle Health Sciences and as a director of Dermira, Inc (Nasdaq: DERM) until its acquisition by Eli Lilly and Company. He also serves as a director of Mumbai-based Lupin Ltd. and as a trustee of the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation.Mark received a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
