ABOUT MIKE MCCONNELL

My name is Mike McConnell and I would like to welcome you to my professional profile! In the next few paragraphs, I’ll do my best to give an overview of my career, education, and provide a glance into my personal life. As a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young, I challenge myself every day; as a professional, as an auditor, as a leader, and as a team player. In my past seven years of working in public practice, I have learned the importance of producing quality results, thinking critically, and building relationships. Through working at EY, I have gained experience in a number of different industries ranging from technology to manufacturing, with my focus being primarily in financial services (“FSO”). Over the past three years I have focused on working on Banking and Wealth Asset Management clients, where I have audited two of the largest Banks in the UK. My post-secondary education includes completing Accounting Add-on courses and an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (with distinction, co-op option, accounting specialization, and economics minor) from Wilfrid Laurier University. On a personal level, I’m happiest when I’m with family and friends. I love to stay active, where my favourite activities include powerlifting (squat, bench, deadlift) and running. I also enjoy spending time outdoors, travelling and reading. I’m always happy to chat over a drink or a cup of coffee.
