About Brandon McCartney

I believe that the products and technology we are building today will shape the world we will live in tomorrow. I have chosen to focus on human-centered design, research, and digital accessibility over the last decade as part of my personal mission to contribute to that future in a positive way. I also really enjoy building things, learning how they work, and finding ways to improve them.I am currently leading development of Visa\'s Global Accessibility Requirements within the Visa Accessibility program where I focus on making accessibility easier for digital product teams by finding innovative ways to weave accessibility strategy and testing into the development lifecycle. In past roles, I led similar initiatives at Microsoft in the Bing and Cloud & AI organizations.Looking forward, I am passionate about learning as much as I can about Responsible AI and the ethical considerations that are crucial to improving machine learning and data fairness. I see disability inclusion as a key factor in the ways we continue to use AI for automated decision making and the ways that underrepresented groups are unfairly excluded from training data.Outside of work I am passionate about being the best father I can be and exploring new hobbies. My latest hobbies include reading a lot of science fiction, drinking a little too much tea, and film photography.
