ABOUT TAYLOR MCCAFFERTY
I am a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) with a background in psychology, addiction studies, and clinical forensic psychology. My work sits at the intersection of prevention, early intervention, research, and education, most often with adolescents, young adults, and the communities that support them.I currently manage a youth diversion and intervention program, where I design and facilitate strengths-based, restorative programming in areas like substance use, mental health, healthy relationships, and life skills. I also enjoy community education and regularly present to schools, parents, and organizations on topics such as adolescent development and substance use.Alongside my applied work, I remain actively engaged in research and collaborative projects. My past projects include work in substance use, trauma, sexual health, impulsivity and compulsivity, and access to care, particularly through the lens that research can inform practical, real-world change. I value interdisciplinary collaboration and am always open to thoughtful research partnerships or side projects. At the core of everything I do is a belief in curiosity, compassion, and growth. I try to bring those values into my work and into my professional relationships. If you are a student, researcher, clinician, or community partner interested in connecting, collaborating, or simply starting a conversation, I’m always glad to hear from you.
