About Michael A. Brokordt

The most memorable moment in my career didn\'t occur in a boardroom or at a trade show. It took place at a company Christmas party. Looking around the room, I saw colleagues with their families—people whose daily work often feels disconnected from the numbers we track. In that moment, the connection was evident. The growth we facilitated translated into something real: more stability, less financial strain, and opportunities that hadn\'t existed before. It served as a reminder that behind every metric are real lives being influenced. That\'s how I define success. Revenue isn\'t a vanity metric. It funds growth, creates jobs, and sustains the organizations we build. When marketing succeeds, everything downstream works too. I am a strategic marketing and communications leader with over 10 years of experience driving commercial growth in aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing. I bridge complex engineering and market adoption by translating IP-sensitive, highly technical capabilities into narratives that build credibility, generate a qualified pipeline, and support sustained revenue growth. At MicroTek Finishing, a Tier 1 aerospace and defense supplier, my efforts have contributed to three consecutive years of accelerating revenue growth: 9%, 13%, and 37%, with over 40% projected for 2026. I rebuilt marketing into a structured growth function, elevated trade show strategy into a targeted commercial channel, and positioned the company within the additive manufacturing and aerospace ecosystems where key buying decisions are made. Earlier in my career, I led marketing and event initiatives across the U.S. and Europe, managing teams of up to 30 and advising organizations on growth strategy, brand positioning, and execution. That foundation shapes how I operate—with a bias toward ownership, accountability, and results. I am bilingual in English and German. Outside of work, I officiate collegiate basketball. It involves stepping into new environments, working alongside new crews, and establishing credibility quickly—often without prior relationships. Adapting to those situations, making real-time decisions under pressure, and communicating clearly across different perspectives have made me more effective as both an official and a marketing leader. If you\'re building something technically demanding and need it to be understood, trusted, and chosen, I\'m always open to a conversation.

Experience

  1. Men\'s Collegiate Basketball Official

Officiating has made me a sharper leader. Not because it is dramatic — but because it is unforgiving. As a certified collegiate official at the NAIA, D2, and D3 levels — currently in the Midwest after a decade in New England — I make high-stakes, real-time decisions under intense public scrutiny every time I step on the floor. The skills it demands are the same ones that define strong communications leadership: authority without arrogance, composure under pressure, active listening in contested environments, and the ability to make the right call when everyone in the room has a different opinion about what that is.
