Established lithium-ion battery cell tear-down protocols for parameter extractions and post-mortem analysis. Investigated and root caused lithium-ion battery cell failures coming from the field. Partnered with metrology laboratory to generate accurate dimensions of incoming lithium-ion battery cells using X-ray computed tomography (CT) technique. Tested and validated different adhesives and sealants for lithium-ion battery modules/packs. Surveyed and outlined the available routes of recycling of different lithium-ion battery components. Evaluated the effects of heat-aging on printed circuit boards (PCBs) of lithium-ion battery monitoring system (BMS) heat-aged in contact with dielectric fluid coolants. Measured electrical resistivity of transmission fluids by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) method. Studied the heat-aging effects on enameled copper wires used in motors and stators. Proactively engaged and facilitated discussions on lab results, testing protocols, failure analyses with cross-functional teams, actively served as a liaison between product services and design control.
