WORK HISTORY
Research Engineer @EPRI
Palo Alto, CA, US
Analyze energy performance data of building systems such as heat pumps, air conditioners, as well as natural gas, electric, and heat pump water heaters. Recommend solutions based on data analysis.• Develop technical and analytical tools and approaches for field demonstration projects evaluating novel building decarbonization technologies such as heat pumps, water heating electrification, building envelope thermal enhancements, and building load flexibility strategies. • Select and commission appropriate instrumentation for different field demonstration projects. Instrumentation can include temperature and relative humidity sensors, current transducers, and air quality sensors.• Model the energy performance of different types of buildings to assess savings from electrification and decarbonization measures such as heat pumps and heat pump water heaters, as well as thermal envelope enhancement measures such as window retrofits. Conduct diverse types of analysis ranging from performance standard compliance to techno-economic analysis.• Lead research work stream investigating how Building Performance Standards will impact the built environment, with a particular focus on electrification readiness and increasing data needs.
