About Mazen Abdu
It’s slightly embarrassing to say, I grew up as a nerd. In middle school, you could\'ve found me in the family garage polishing semi-precious stones with a rock tumbler or seeing how far an air compressor can propel a potato — over time my obsession with sciences morphed into a focus on technology. For a decade now I’ve worked with best in class technology organizations, and it has truly been a journey. I am passionate about delivering real solutions to drive business outcomes. Over the past five years I\'ve helped more than 30+ organizations across the East Coast implement new Enterprise-wide technology conversions. Literally, tens of thousands of people have been involved and an untold number positively impacted. I have also worked on hundreds of smaller projects over that time period. The focus of every one of those engagements no matter the size centers on driving value for my customer\'s customer. If there is one thing I\'ve learned over the years it’s that people, processes, and technology are critical to making organizational improvements. But without the fourth element — leadership — transformations rarely occur. Currently, I am working with stakeholders at all levels to navigate demanding internal politics and help develop a business case for change.

Threat modeling brings security into the design process by identifying risks early, reducing vulnerabilities, and helping organizations build securely by design. It is one of the only controls in cybersecurity that is truly proactive. Most tools and processes react after an incident or a test uncovers a weakness. Threat modeling works before the weakness ever makes it into production, which matters because fixing a problem after release can cost 100x more than building it correctly from the beginning.Traditionally, threat modeling has been a manual exercise — often captured in Excel spreadsheets, static diagrams, or even hand-drawn models. This approach is difficult to maintain, doesn’t scale, and does not keep pace applications evolution. With every organization racing to add AI into their applications, move workloads to the cloud, and refactor legacy systems, new and unforeseen risks are appearing every day. Automated threat modeling changes the game by surfacing risks continuously, enabling effective change management, and giving teams a practical way to stay ahead of vulnerabilities — all while supporting safe AI adoption, smooth cloud migration, and secure modernization of applications.
