ABOUT MAYURI GOSWAMI

I strongly believe in the quote- “Hard work eats talent for breakfast.” In 2017, I secured a scholarship to pursue a master\'s degree in Creative Writing from the University of Limerick in Ireland. As the only non-native English writer on the course, I introduced my classmates to the power of unexplored writing from northeastern India. This course taught me to expertly look within myself for stories and to trust the fact that I will always find an audience for them. During my three-year stay in Ireland, I worked as an editor of academic essays (my parents were briefly delighted!) while moonlighting as a barmaid (the reason why their foregoing delight was short-lived). Eventually, they convinced me to return home. Upon my return to India, I worked as a Brand Storyteller for a fuel e-commerce start-up. I led a team of copywriters, graphic designers, and audio-visual professionals in polishing the brand story while driving sales through creative marketing efforts. In my almost two-year stint at the company, I discovered my intense interest in advertising and have since spent my time chiseling my skill set. In January of 2023, I left India for a year to live in Sunnyvale, California with my unsuspecting husband who believed me when I told him that exerting oneself in housekeeping activities is the number one killer of raw, writerly talent. I did work briefly for Meta (the Facebook guys) as a Demo Specialist during their Meta Quest 3 launch. I also participated in their research when they were developing avatars for the AR / VR sets. Throughout my stay in the USA, I did some fulfilling volunteer work for a non-profit that works towards educating girls in East Africa. I am still associated with this organization.I returned to India in 2024 (hopefully to stay on) and started working as a Promo Producer at a top audio storytelling platform.
