About Daniel Johnson
I\'m committed to strengthening community through volunteer efforts and civic engagement, drawing on a strong background in leadership development, fundraising, advocacy, communications, event planning, public speaking, and facilitation. My passion is invested in connecting people, organizations, and ideas to maximize collective impact.Building on my expertise, especially in leadership and program development, I empower diverse groups. I facilitate cohort design, capacity building, coaching, and training in areas like equity, collective engagement, and Robert\'s Rules of Order. I consistently provide critical in-person and virtual assistance and support, ensuring excellent customer service while effectively managing 20-60+ individuals annually. I collaborated in designing customized curricula and planned/evaluated 10-month training programs for Public Allies cohorts. My professional development efforts for Public Allies involve individual/group coaching and direct feedback for leadership and retention. I also lead partnership recruitment and engagement to build a robust Public Allies Los Angeles Partner Network, fostering community relationships and linking Ally learnings to social justice movements via Asset-Based Community Development. My duties further involve interpreting governance documents (LA City Charter, Brown Act) and interfacing with city, county, state, and federal representatives, including the Mayor\'s Office, City Council, the Board of Public Works, and other agencies. I prioritize precise assistance and support and high-quality customer service. I\'m adept at preparing reports and data analysis for elected officials and the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners. Additionally, I provide board member support and leadership training focused on conflict resolution, community outreach/surveys, work/event planning, and relationship building.Beyond my role as a Neighborhood Empowerment Advocate / Project Coordinator for the City of Los Angeles, I\'ve served on the Venice Community Housing Board of Directors. I\'m an alumnus of AmeriCorps, YouthBuild Global, Front Line Leaders Academy, Answering the Call, and the New Leaders Council’s Los Angeles Chapter. Having completed my Certificate in Community Planning and Economic Development (CPED) at Los Angeles Trade Tech College, I\'m eager to support peers in achieving long-term success. My passion for unity, civic/community engagement, and advocating for underserved communities drives my aspiration to secure a leadership role that fulfills my purpose.
