Mayling Armijo is the Executive Director of the Elevated Lending Certified Development Company (ELCDC), an organization committed to assisting community lenders and small businesses access capital. She is particularly well suited for the position as this Albuquerque native is passionate about strengthening New Mexico’s economy as demonstrated by almost 20 years helping businesses achieve their projects’ goals.Mayling’s strong background in business and financial development for both private and public finance sectors and her work in the military gives her a fluency across a variety of disciplines. She uses that knowledge to move endeavors forward efficiently as she has an understanding of a project in its entirety. This enables her to design the most concise way to successfully structure the deal to obtain positive results. She has the deserved reputation as a business visionary and her expansive network of business contacts give her immediate access to essential resources.At ELCDC, Mayling is responsible for the effective management and overall leadership of the company. This includes overseeing operations, advancing business development goals, defining and implementing strategic objectives for the company’s growth, and exercising financial control of the company. To achieve these directives, she pulls from her diverse business background.Her career began in banking where she held positions of increasing responsibility—Analyst, Banker, Lender, and Branch Manager. Later, she moved to the public sector doing Public Finance for the New Mexico Finance Authority. From there she went to Economic Development for the State of New Mexico in Santa Fe followed by a promotion to Bernalillo County, New Mexico. There she served as the Director of Economic Development, building and leading a team that still operates today to support and promote Bernalillo County’s local business ecosystem and continued economic growth. Most recently, her role was Deputy County Manager for Sandoval County, New Mexico. There she directed the county\'s organizational and operational management, the budget, and administrative operations and activities and had oversight of all its Division Heads.Her educational achievements include a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix; a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Mexico; a diploma in Commercial Credit from the Western States School of Banking; and a graduate of JPME 1 from the Naval War College. She also serves in the United States Navy Reserve as a Supply Corps Officer.
