Over the past five years, AWF has made significant contributions by planting over 7.2 million trees in tribal-dominated states of India, including Odisha, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, providing livelihoods to rural communities and addressing environmental issues. Our tree planting efforts aim to sequester kg of carbon annually, contributing significantly to SDG 13. We also conserve habitats, aligning with SDGs 14 and 15, and reduce human-animal conflicts, supporting broader environmental and biodiversity goals. AWF actively involves local communities, sensitizing them to the benefits of tree planting and wildlife protection, promoting sustainable economic development (SDG 1). Our projects extend to empowering women (SDG 5) and preserving vital ecosystems in rural communities. Beyond tree planting, we engage in free health check-ups, honey bee training, and water conservation, broadening our impact to address health (SDG 3) and biodiversity (SDG 15).
