ABOUT MAYANK BHANTI
I have around 18 years of experience working in the field of analytical method development and validation with a specialization in trace analysis. My early research was focused on trace analysis method development for the determination of organochlorine and organophosphorus pesticides in different complex sample matrices. Subsequently, I got an opportunity to work on bioanalytical projects wherein I was introduced to the fascinating world of mass spectrometry (MS) and its application in ultra-trace quantifications. Through my experience working on various projects, I have attained expertise in various MS technologies (single quadrupole, triple quadrupole, high-resolution MS, ion trap, and time-of-flight) for the identification, characterization, and quantitation of active ingredients, degradation products, metabolites, and potential genotoxic impurities including CoC (cohort-of-concern) compounds such as Aflatoxins and Nitrosamines. I also honed my skill in method development and optimization of analytical techniques for the in-process control samples (IPC), impurity profile, assay by HPLC, GC, and wet chemistry analysis of the pharmaceutical samples (APIs). Executed several validations of analytical methods as per ICH and USP guidelines by HPLC and GC for the assay and impurities/related substances.While transitioning to various roles, I have transformed myself into a result-oriented strategic manager with strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. I have a proven ability to establish and maintain strong alliances with global internal and external customers. I can lead and motivate teams to drive projects to successful completion exceeding customer expectations. I have acquired project management skills to seamlessly drive planning, budgeting, implementation, and reporting and have acted as project manager for several analytical projects. I am presently leading the Compendial Development Laboratory at USP, India site with an excellent team of scientists working on the modernization of monographs involving method development and validations for small molecules (drug substances and drug products), Excipients, and Food Ingredients.
