ABOUT MAYA DACRES

My name is Maya Dacres (she/her), and I am a Behavior Technician and graduate of Georgia State University, where I earned a degree in Neuroscience, with a strong interest in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), education, and culturally responsive practice. I currently support individuals with developmental and behavioral needs while advancing my professional training in behavior analysis.I am pursuing a Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis at Capella University with a concentration in Autism Spectrum Disorder, working toward Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA). In alignment with my commitment to equitable and accessible care, I plan to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish to strengthen my ability to provide linguistically and culturally responsive behavioral services.Long term, I intend to pursue a PhD in Behavior Analysis, with research interests focused on systems-level interventions, equity in educational and behavioral health settings, and ethical, evidence-based alternatives to exclusionary discipline practices.I am passionate about ethical practice, leadership development, and improving systems of care. I welcome opportunities to connect with professionals in ABA, education, research, and human services to collaborate, learn, and create meaningful impact.
