Where do you see yourself in five years?”He throws out the routine question and a brief glance in my direction, before returning his gaze to the clipboard, perhaps subtly signaling the end of this interview. I fidget and slightly widen the semi-strained smile on my face, but eventually compose myself and prepare to answer. Four years, an enlightening internship resulting in a pre-placement offer, a hard-earned bachelor’s degree in technology, a chance to work in two different business units within the same company, one semester into my master\'s program, and a world of experience later, I aim to answer that question a second time.As a growing professional in a world where technology and business are irrevocably intertwined, I realize that while I have worked on honing my technical skills, I have only been privy to a worm’s-eye view of the overarching business needs of the organization. I feel it is important to achieve that sweet spot between possessing the technical know-how and the business acumen to strategically employ it. I aim to achieve this through utilizing NYU Courant and Stern\'s well-rounded curriculum which aligns with my inclination towards better understanding data management and strategy. I am also enthusiastic to learn under world-class faculty and build a strong professional network. If I were to now flash forward four years into the future, I would see myself as a key stakeholder in the decision-making process, equipped with a bird’s-eye view of the organizational requirements, and more than ready to face the plethora of challenges and opportunities lying ahead.
