ABOUT MAYA SCHAEFFER
Community Builder | Event Strategist | People-First Ops Lead As the lead organizer of EvolveDigital (EvolveDigital.com)- formerly EvolveDrupal, I’ve helped revive and reshape in-person community experiences in the post-pandemic era—bringing together over 1,250 attendees across Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Atlanta, New York City, and Boston. With 40% of participants joining from outside the traditional Drupal ecosystem, these summits reflect a growing appetite for cross-functional spaces that spotlight Drupal’s relevance across sectors and technologies. Currently, I serve as Lead of Employee Experience & Community at Evolving Web, a full-service open source agency. I lead a hybrid portfolio that blends event strategy, marketing, and people operations. From managing our content and marketing team, to overseeing community partnerships and spearheading our presence at global conferences, I aim to foster meaningful connections—both inside and outside the organization. I’m also responsible for shaping the employee experience, from onboarding to offboarding, and maintaining a welcoming, well-run Montreal office. Before joining Evolving Web, I spent over three years at AVIAREPS after graduating with a Bachelor’s in Tourism Management from NHL Stenden University in the Netherlands. My international experience—having lived in the Netherlands, Germany, and now Canada—has taught me the value of intercultural communication and adaptability. Whether I’m planning a summit or a team celebration, I thrive at the intersection of operations, community, and culture.
