ABOUT MAYA PATEL
History Graduate at the University Of Warwick. Incredibly passionate about sports research, focusing on inequalities, gender, and South Asian representation in football and beyond. Throughout my academic journey, I\'ve conducted in-depth research on discrimination in sports, exploring critical issues such as underrepresentation and systematic barriers in football. Currently working on my dissertation on how post-colonial legacies intersect with the lived experiences and representation of British South Asian female footballers. In addition to my academic work, I regularly contribute journalistic articles to organisations such as @BeyondThePitch, exploring issues of diversity and representation in sport. These experiences have fuelled my aspiration to create meaningful change in the sports industry, advocating for greater inclusivity in sports through roles in journalism, policy development, equality, diversity, inclusion, and advocacy.I am eager to connect with professionals and organisations committed to fostering inclusion and innovation in sports to amplify diverse voices and drive impactful change.
