ABOUT MAYA MINSKY
My time at Rutgers as a Genetics major has prepared me for the exciting and complex work in the genetics field. I have taken classes that have developed my analytical and critical thinking skills, allowing me to troubleshoot and propose creative solutions to problems. My minor in Medical Ethics and Policy has expanded my appreciation and comprehension of possible ethical issues and complexities in both the healthcare and research fields. I am eager and excited to learn more about the daily routine of a genetic counselor through my work as a genetic counseling assistant in the prenatal specialty. Both the psychosocial and clinical knowledge required of genetic counseling is what draws me to this career. My career interests include genetic counseling and research in genetics, as the field\'s versatility and applications intrigue me. I enjoy collaborating with diverse teams of people, which allows for engaging and challenging dialogue. I am looking to connect with people to learn more about the field as I begin my career journey as a young professional.
