About Maya Spiegel

I am currently a Junior at the University of New Hampshire studying Business Marketting with a minor in Psychology hoping to gain job experience by being immersed in the business world and expanding my resume. I am an active member of the Tau Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta serving as the Electronic Communications Director, using campaigning and social media knowledge to gain traction online. Some of my past work experience includes 7 years of restaurant experience encompassing varied jobs including food preparation, bussing, hostessing, expediting, and serving. My past experience in restraurants heightened and improved my skills of customer service, communication, multitasking, staying controlled in a fast paced environment, and teamwork among many others. Some other past job experience also includes being a Red Cross Certified lifeguarding for 2 years at a private beach. Some skills I have gained from work as a lifeguard includes responsibility, attention to detail, leadership, problem solving etc. Lifeguard certification also included training and certification in CPR and first aid.

   Appleseed Restaurant and Catering was my first employer. I have worked there throughout high school, while managing academics and sports. During my time working in the food industry, I gained social skills and learned how to deal with people in a variety of situations. The dinner rush and pressure to keep customers happy has strengthened my ability to multitask and work under pressure in stressful situations.
