ABOUT MAYA EMILY LORFORD RICHARDS

An experienced project professional with five years’ experience delivering projects and programmes across the public and private sectors. I am currently on a career enhancement journey enrolled in a Foundation Degree in Wildlife Conservation and Countryside Management at the Royal Agricultural University.I am skilled in building and leading multi-disciplinary teams to work towards a common goal. I prioritise developing trusted relationships with stakeholders to shape requirements, gain buy-in, and secure lasting engagement throughout the project lifecycle. I have led end-to-end procurement activities across multiple sectors, from drafting procurement strategies and Statements of Requirement, to evaluating suppliers. I’ve managed Outline Business Case development in line with The Five Case Model, and supported Full Business Case development for critical, high-value programmes (up to £3bn). I am well versed in project management best practice to ensure strategic alignment, value-for-money, and benefits realisation. With a foundation in project controls, I am well-versed in RAIDO management, governance, and reporting. I provide senior leaders with transparent, data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making. I bring a balanced skill set that combines technical expertise with strong communication and adaptive leadership. My approach balances the needs of individuals with those of the team and the task, to create a psychologically safe environment where people feel valued, focused on delivery, and confident in their capability. I tailor my leadership style to suit the team maturity, project context, and stakeholder priorities.
