About Maya Budzinski
As a bioengineer, I am passionate about developing cutting-edge medical technology that can improve the lives of people around the world. I graduated from the University of Maryland in 2023, where I studied bioengineering with a focus on device development. I also spent a semester at Universidad Carlos de Madrid, where I learned about bioengineering applications in Europe.During my studies, I gained valuable experience in global health engineering, as I designed a low-cost laparoscope and optimized injection parameters for ethanol ablation, a novel treatment method for cervical precancer in low-middle income countries. I also completed a device development internship at REGENXBIO Inc, where I tested various drug delivery systems and gene therapy materials, and created 3D models of device components using SolidWorks.
