Manage full-spectrum lab operations for a precision oncology research group while independently building AI systems that accelerate research output- Built 26-layer multi-agent AI platform with specialized roles (Pathway Analyst, Clinical Scout, Orchestrator) — automated hours of manual literature research into minutes of citation-verified analysis- Led 6-month lab-wide reorganization that transformed operations — relabeled, restructured, and systematized every storage area; team members now regularly comment on how much easier and faster daily work is- Built SharePoint knowledge management system from scratch — inventory tracking, protocol documentation, research data organization — used daily by entire lab- Onboarded multiple PhD rotation students and undergrads: cell culture training, badge access coordination, orientation materials, Tecan instrument setup- Manage procurement pipeline: stockroom purchasing, special orders, vendor coordination, and tracking down misdelivered temperature-sensitive antibodies across Yale\'s campus- Diagnosed LI-COR computer failure using AI-assisted research — identified CMOS battery issue, sourced parts, and coordinated company repair visit- Recovered accidentally deleted SharePoint data with zero data loss under pressure- Trained coworker on Claude Code — spreading AI literacy within the lab- Passage HEK293 and VHS GRD cells, manage liquid nitrogen tank monitoring, run autoclave/sterilization, handle biohazard disposal, maintain incubators

ABOUT MAX LESLIE

I build things from zero. Then I make them run.Last year, my boss showed me a paper on AI-powered virtual labs. I took that idea and built a 26-layer multi-agent research platform for precision oncology at Yale School of Medicine — specialized AI agents that replaced hours of manual literature review with minutes of automated, citation-verified analysis. Nobody gave me a roadmap. I figured out the tools, the architecture, and the implementation myself. Then I did it again. I founded Marrow House Books, built an AI-powered publishing pipeline from scratch, and produced 70+ titles. 5 production stages. 17 sub-steps. 15-layer quality assurance. Multi-model orchestration across Claude, GPT-4, and Gemini. 3 open-source tools published on GitHub.But here\'s the thing most people miss about me: I\'m not an AI guy who dabbles in operations. I\'m an operations leader who weaponizes AI.At Yale, I run the day-to-day for a cancer research lab — procurement, vendor management, equipment maintenance, safety compliance, team training, and a SharePoint knowledge management system I built from scratch that the entire group relies on. I\'ve onboarded PhD students, recovered deleted data under pressure, diagnosed hardware failures, reorganized an entire lab over 6 months, and tracked down temperature-sensitive deliveries across Yale\'s campus before they degraded. What I bring to your team- 2 production AI systems built and shipped (not demos — in use today)- Lab reorganization that transformed daily operations for an entire research group- Knowledge management system used daily by researchers, postdocs, and students- Multi-model AI orchestration (Claude, GPT-4, Gemini, 4+ LLMs)- Cross-functional coordination across scientists, administrators, and vendors- The ability to walk into chaos, build order, and make it self-sustainingI\'m looking for an Operations Manager, Program Manager, or Technical Program Manager role where I can do what I do best: take something from nothing to production and move at a speed that used to require a full team.Let\'s talk.
