The Executive Director of Development is a member of the development team and is responsible for devising and executing a comprehensive major gift fundraising plan to maximize the securing of principal, leadership level gifts for the University. In addition, the Executive Director provides leadership and oversight of the major gifts function and supervises development personnel. Develops strategies for identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major and principal (6, 7 and 8 figure figure) level gifts Actively manage a portfolio of top major gift prospects and donors for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship Serve as lead team member on major university fundraising projects, particularly those that cross college and department affinities. Serve as a development liaison to academic/departmental units or colleges, when and if needed Devise and execute a comprehensive major gifts fundraising plan for ONU in consultation with the VP and AVP Perform HR functions for direct reports, including performance reviews, onboarding, and other supervisory responsibilities Set team and individual goals for major gifts personnel in consultation with VP and AVP Create an operational structure that provides consistent and clear direction for major gifts tasks Oversee and coordinate direct reports in a shared leadership model designed to efficiently and effectively distribute administrative functions Support, assist and advise direct reports in successfully identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gifts prospects Provide VP and AVP with accurate and timely major gifts reports and progress summaries on projects Serve as leadership support to VP and AVP as needed Partner with VP, AVP, various University leaders, deans, faculty and staff to devise and execute major gifts strategies; advise gift officers in their reporting relationships with various University departments
