ABOUT MAXINE HENRY

I’m an experienced HR professional with over 20 years working across engineering, manufacturing, and technology. I’m currently Group HR Manager at Dyer and part of the Executive Team, where I lead our people strategy and support the business through change, growth, and the day-to-day realities of running a busy organisation.Since joining Dyer, I’ve written and delivered our first full People Strategy, shaped around our principles: Smarter, Stronger, Together. I’ve introduced practical, people-focused changes across recruitment, performance, development, and leadership – all aimed at helping our people do their best work. I also led the work that helped us win a national award for Developing Future Talent, and I designed Leading at Dyer, a leadership programme that’s now being used to build capability right across the business. My background is hands-on – I started out in operational HR, managing labour planning, recruitment, and industrial relations in engineering and construction environments. At one point, I led a team of seven and supported a workforce of around 700 people. That grounding taught me how to work quickly, stay calm under pressure, and build trust across all levels.I care deeply about culture and capability. I’m currently supporting our leadership team through a major change programme as we move into a group structure. I’ve also championed inclusive hiring, early careers development, and psychological safety – all with the aim of creating a workplace where people feel supported, challenged, and valued.I’ve got a degree in HR Management, a Level 7 qualification in Coaching and Mentoring, and I’m a member of both the CIPD and the Association for Coaching. I also created a coaching framework that I use to help people get clear on what matters, build confidence, and grow in their role.Outside of work, I’m a coffee-drinking yogi who likes to run. I’m also an unpaid servant to my two boys and their social lives – the kind I can only dream of for myself.
