ABOUT MAXINE GREGORY
My research and evaluation work has a central focus on getting more people to be more active - whether this is via outdoor sport, physical education, active travel or physical activity in all its varied forms. My work helps to strengthen the evidence base to demonstrate the value of outdoor recreation, active travel and active environments, by bringing together leading multi-disciplinary experts in: ecosystems, environmental impact, engineering and technology, economic impact, social impact, tourism, sociology, countryside access, public health, and behavioural change. After 20+ years at Sheffield Hallam University, I have recently joined the Mosodi team to set up a research division with Professor Ed Ferrari. I have served on the Board of the European Network of Outdoor Sport (ENOS) since 2015, both as Secretary and Vice Chair. ENOS works in partnership across Europe to raise awareness of outdoor recreation and sport, and advocates the benefits of getting outdoors. My experience can help to drive change by providing user-friendly, impactful insight and evidence in the following ways- Measuring and Quantifying Value (including social value)- Strategic Development and Evidence-based Planning- Business Development- Evaluation of Impact - including measuring economic impact and social impact.
