ABOUT MAXINE CLAIRE PILON
I am a Policy Analyst with over five years of experience in the public service. I have a keen interest in feminism, human rights, domestic and world politics, international relations, conflict, peace and security issues, political polarization, the protection of democracy and countering disinformation and misinformation. I am a graduate from the University of Ottawa, and I hold an Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences in Human Rights and Conflict Studies in the Co-operative Education and French Immersion streams, as well as a Master of Arts in Public and International Affairs. In fulfilling the requirements of my Master of Arts, I wrote a major research paper in which I examined whether the Women, Peace and Security Agenda provides the necessary conditions for women\'s agency and the achievement of sustainable human security and peace, using the war in Afghanistan (20••••21) as a case study. Over the course of my academic and professional careers, I have developed a variety of skills and abilities, including research, analysis, synthesis, written and oral communication, problem-solving, collaboration, relationship-building, coordination, organization, and leadership. I am fluently bilingual in English and French. I am a driven, compassionate, dependable, adaptable, and collaborative worker, with attention to detail and a positive attitude. I hope to pursue a dynamic career in public policy and/or global affairs through which I can make a difference in the world. Let’s connect!
