ABOUT MAXIM LYADVINSKY

Maxim Lyadvinsky is a technical fellow focusing on system/kernel-level software development. He was a CTO at Parallels, a co-founder and the Head of Engineering at Acronis and a co-founder of a fintech startup Bloomio. He is a co-author of more than 60 patents (H-index = 32).Maxim loves to write system-level cross-platform code in C/C++ for Linux/MacOS/Windows. He has started his learning journey in primary school, when he crunched machine codes of his lovely Z-80 processor. All of a sudden, he discovered the programming languages universe, realizing it is much easier and faster to write software in human readable C rather than in raw machine code\'s secret language that looked like a cipher text. Several years of system software development and talented engineers’ management have supported his arrival at Acronis as a co-founder in 2001.Maxim has scaled the team from 4 engineers to around 400 employees as the Head of R&D of Acronis. A unique team of highly talented and dedicated engineers, who truly understand the storage industry and big data technologies, helped the company to grow from a small startup to a multi-hundred-million-dollar international company with a recognized brand in data security, cloud storage and backup. Together with top engineers Maxim created enterprise scale software, protected by many patents. Maxim is a co-author of many patents and has intellectual property litigation experience, defending against patent infringement suits. He has expertise with infringement contentions, rebuttal reports, etc. Many years of warm friendships with venture capitalists willing to invest into fast-growing Acronis have transformed his career inspiration into a new activity to help VC firms with due diligence. Maxim has led several fundraising rounds, selling his private equity to VC and private investors. Maxim has invested into a Swiss startup – OneVisage. He serves as a board member.Maxim is an Orthodox Christian and interested to help businesses with a tangible social impact. This is why he has consulted another Swiss startup – Xsensio, helping them to build their go-to-market strategy. This startup can disrupt the diabetes market with a new non-invasive real-time glucose monitoring method.
