Leading and supporting strategic customs initiatives as a Customs Lawyer (foreign-trained, DE & NL) that create value and ensure regulatory compliance, both at the national level for Siemens U.S. and through global collaboration with Customs and SCM teams across the organization.Key Responsibilities- Customs Advisory: Provide expert guidance to a Siemens U.S. Business Unit on relevant customs topics, incl. customs strategies, tariff changes, and supply chain risks, ensuring business decisions align with regulatory requirements- Subject Matter Expert on Forced Labor (incl. UFLPA): Develop and implement compliance strategies for forced labor regulations, contributing to both the U.S. Customs team and an internal global supply chain task force- Legal Monitoring and Regulatory Review & Analysis: Continuously track regulatory developments to proactively identify risks, interpret changes in U.S. customs laws (e.g, tariff updates, rules of origin) and implement appropriate compliance measures by translating them into actionable procedures- Product Owner – Post Entry Management Application: Drive the vision and strategy of an internal post-entry platform, collaborating with developers to enhance functionality, automate processes, and optimize data workflows- Product Owner – External Supply Chain Review Software: Lead internal adoption, integrate the tool into forced labor compliance processes, and coordinate a global effort to consolidate fragmented contracts into a unified master service agreement- Communication & Training: Develop and deliver targeted training, establish an FAQ page, and update collaboration sessions to keep customs teams and business units informed on regulatory changes and compliance expectationsWorking in the U.S. is a professionally and personally enriching experience.
