Moving from R&D into a business function, I took over responsibility for the innovation project portfolio of BASF\'s inorganic salts department. Key tasks in this role are driving the existing projects and ensuring fast times to the market, identification of new innovation topics and their development as well as regular status communication to the upper management.The innovation projects that lie in my responsibility reflect the diversity of BASF\'s inorganic salts business. Feed ingredients and treatment methods are a key area where I lead several registration processes for new applications with different authorities. Another focal topic are molten-salt thermal energy storages systems that can act as an enabler for carbon-free industrial steam supply. Here, I promote the excellent suitability of BASF\'s sodium nitrate and sodium nitrite salt portfolio.

I am a Chemical Engineer specialized in process development for solids material synthesis and passionate about driving sustainable innovations in the chemical industry and beyond. Whether by leading projects to develop innovative production processes in the lithium-ion battery space, by managing the innovation portfolio of BASF\'s inorganic salts department or by supporting production plants in trouble shooting - it always brings me great joy to apply my knowledge to push things to the better.Innovation has been always dear to my heart. After obtaining my diploma in chemical engineering I chose to pursue my PhD. For this, I conducted research in the field of the single-step, continuous gas phase synthesis of oxygen-deficient titanium dioxide and its on-the-fly functionalization with ultrafine transition metal particles. This allowed me, together with colleagues from material sciences, to design an especially efficient photocatalytic material for the splitting of water into hydrogen and oxygen.After receiving my PhD, I wanted to apply my abilities in the chemical industry and decided to join BASF\'s research division in the center of expertise for crystallization and precipitation where I could apply my knowledge in process engineering and particle technology to support both research activities and production plants across many of BASF\'s operative segments. I could deepen my knowledge in project management and in working and communication in interdisciplinary teams.Evolving with one of my research projects, I then moved to BASF\'s Battery Materials division and took over responsibility for the portfolio of research projects in the field of innovative value chains to produce cathode active materials for lithium-ion batteries. By leading the respective project, I could deepen my skills in project management, horizontal and vertical communication as well as innovation management.I could further deepen my knowledge in innovation management when I took over responsibility of the respective project portfolio of BASF\'s inorganic salts department. Pushing diverse topics stretching from molten-salt thermal energy storage systems as a potential key element in the decarbonization of industrial steam supply over ingredients for animal feed to solutions for the pulp and paper industry, I also enjoy the close contact with customers in this role.
