ABOUT MAX CRAWFORD

My work is focused on the nexus between climate change and the net zero transition. This is the decade that will define whether or not we achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement. The speed at which policy, technology, business and consumer trends are developing is unprecedented. We, at ERM, can help you navigate this highly uncertain world. My background is in the energy industry. But I have worked in climate-related financial risk since the inception of the TCFD recommendations in 2017. As a consultant, I’ve now worked across the financial services and most corporate sectors. My USP is being able to connect the dots on how climate change and low carbon transition trends will impact different organisations. I lead a team of ERM consultants based in the UK, working globally. I also have a global role in the continuing development of ERM’s Climate Risk & Adaptation Service. The team’s shared purpose is to support our clients by delivering impactful work across several dimensions: TCFD support, climate change financial risk, climate change scenario analysis, transition risk and opportunity assessments, developing more resilient strategies, enhancing risk management, quantifying transition risks and opportunities, climate change in due diligence (ESDD, EP4, CCRA), and TCFD-aligned disclosures.We support our ERM colleagues in the Physical Climate Change, Hydrogen, Net Zero, GHG Accounting, Corporate Sustainability, Product Stewardship and M&A teams. My other sustainability passions include the development of a circular economy, the linkage between climate change and food production, and preserving biodiversity - the other great economic externality of our time.
