ABOUT MAX CABILANGAN
Hi! I\'m Max, a junior at UCLA pursuing a double major in Political Science and Computer Science & Linguistics. I\'m actively seeking internship opportunities in EdTech, Civic/GovTech, and other social-impact based tech roles!I thrive at the intersection of technology and humanity, whether that’s through finding technical solutions to non-technical problems, building tools that tackle societal inequities, or just developing apps that make people happy. My journey through tech — albeit short so far — reflects my multifaceted mission: As a recent Software Engineer Intern at PeakMetrics, I built API tools to support policy and business analysts’ workflows. My double major enabled me to understand both non-technical and technical perspectives, formulating user-friendly yet effective solutions. I’ve won three hackathons so far with human-centered projects: a trauma-informed intake quiz app to build long-retention housing for unhoused folks, a mobile app dedicated to organizing accessible gatherings for a diverse populace, and a revamped administrative website for a church serving the Filipino community in Boston. I love integrating colorful user interfaces into all my projects, honoring my background in illustration and design. I believe that tech, while rooted in efficiency, must still hold space for enjoyment and creativity. If anything I’ve said here resonates with you — or even if it didn’t — free to reach out through LinkedIn messaging! I always love learning from new people and experiences.
