ABOUT MAX BEILBY

As Senior Vice President of Culture & Behavioural Risk at Citi, I manage a global team of auditors and applied psychologists dedicated to understanding and improving organisational culture. My work bridges behavioural science, data analytics, and artificial intelligence, to help identify and manage people and conduct risks across the bank.I’ve been at the forefront of integrating AI and data science into audit methodology, including developing and deploying a Large Language Model (LLM) to automate qualitative data analysis. Alongside this, I’ve worked closely with Model Risk Management and AI Oversight to establish protocols and methodologies that ensure such AI systems are transparent, ethical, and rigorously evaluated.Beyond my role at Citi, I serve on the Advisory Board of Ethical Systems, a research organisation promoting evidence-based approaches to business ethics. I’m also the author of Darwinian Business, which is a blog exploring the intersection of business, psychology, and evolution. My academic background includes a Master’s in Organisational and Social Psychology from the London School of Economics, where I also recently completed executive education in \'AI and the Future of Organisations\'. I also hold a First-Class degree in Business Management from the University of Brighton.I’ve written on responsible AI practices in Harvard Business Review with my co-author Dr Brian Spisak, and I continue to advocate for ethical, human-centred innovation in financial services.
