About Max Tarshis

I am currently an Operational Excellence Leader and Packaging Supervisor working for Teva Pharmaceuticals in Salt Lake City, UT. I lead a team of 40+ full-time and contract employees and manage the 24/7 production of a large variety of generic and brand name medicines for distribution and sale in both domestic and international markets.Prior to Teva, I worked in Honeywell’s Performance Materials and Technology—Electronic Materials segment as a chemical plant manager responsible for leading the day-to-day operation and process optimization of high-purity, sodium-reduced titanium sponge production and refining facilities. In this role, I focused heavily on the use of data analytics and statistical process control to meet our stringent customer requirements and held responsibility for all facets of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and human resource management. Earlier in my career, I held process and production engineering roles for a variety of technologies including a hydrofluoric acid unit and Aclon fluoropolymer plant. I also spent several months training as an operator at UOP\'s activated alumina unit in preparation for contingency efforts during union negotiations. Moreover, I served as the sole engineer for an ultra high-purity sulfuric acid unit. At all of these facilities, I was able to quickly learn the plant systems and make improvements that ultimately delivered a positive impact to the company\'s bottom line.I hold a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Virginia Tech and a MBA with a concentration in finance from Pennsylvania State University.
