ABOUT MAX RIEGEL

Max Riegel received his Dipl-Ing. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University Munich, Germany. Currently he is head of standardization within NSN and is leading various technical and strategic initiatives related to OAM of small cell deployments and advanced networking technologies. He is personally engaged in various standardization projects for more than 10 years now, participates regularly in the sponsor ballot process and is currently chair of the 802 OmniRAN EC SG and voting member of the He is member of the for more than 25 years and member of the Standards Association since 2001. Prior to NSN and Nokia Siemens Networks, he held management positions within Siemens Communications on Advanced Standards and IETF and Internet standardization and within Philips Communication Industry and Teleprocessing Systems on product development of multimedia communication systems and data communication equipment. He was engaged in the WiMAX Forum for 6 years as the vice-chairs of the Networking Working Group with particular focus on excellence of processes and procedures for global standardization and served in the 16ng working group of the IETF as technical advisor and contributor on Ethernet over cellular systems.His current focus is on technology development and standardization for future mobile broadband access networks based on advanced technologies for dynamic spectrum access and small cells to provide sufficient wireless capacity for the strongly growing mobile access to the Internet. He has several publications and numerous patents on technologies for broadband mobile Internet access and authored a book on \'Deploying Mobile WiMAX\'.
