ABOUT MAX MORGAN-KAY
I work at the interface between ecology and early-stage marine technology, supporting organisations to move from concept and pilots into fundable, defensible, and deliverable projects.My background is in marine biology, but my career has focused on applying ecological thinking to real-world challenges, particularly in offshore wind, coastal defence, aquaculture, and nature based solution. I have worked both inside delivery organisations and alongside developers, consultants, and regulators, which gives me a practical understanding of where good ideas succeed, stall, or fail.Through my consultancy, Aquatic Dynamics, I support clients with- early-stage validation of novel marine and ecological technologies- structuring pilots and monitoring programmes that meet regulatory and funding expectations- translating ecological value into evidence that engineers, developers, and grant reviewers can work withMy work is deliberately focused upstream, helping technologies and concepts become credible, investable, and ready for deployment, rather than delivering statutory EIAs or HRAs.I am based in the South West of England and work across the UK and Europe.
