About Mauro Moscucci
Mauro Moscucci, M.D, M.B.A, M.P.H, is a Medical Officer in the Office of Cardiovascular Devices at the FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH). Prior to joining the FDA, he served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and as Medical Director of the LifeBridge Health Cardiovascular Institute. He was also Professor of Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he served as Interim Chairman of the Department of Medicine and Chief of the Cardiovascular Division. Additionally, he was Professor of Medicine at the University of Michigan, where he held positions as Director of Interventional Cardiology, Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, and Associate Chief of Cardiology.Dr. Moscucci is the author or co-author of over 300 published medical papers, abstracts, and book chapters. He has edited both the 8th and the most recent 9th editions of \"Grossman and Baim’s: Cardiac Catheterization, Angiography and Intervention.\" Furthermore, he is the editor of the textbook \"Complications of Cardiovascular Procedures: Risk Factors, Management, and Bailout Techniques,\" as well as the \"Atlas of Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Cardiology\", and the first edition of \"Grossman & Baim\'s Handbook of Cardiac Catheterization, Angiography, and Intervention\".Since the beginning of his training, Dr. Moscucci has dedicated his career to outcome assessment and improving the quality of care for patients with cardiovascular disease. He is the founder of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Cardiovascular Consortium (BMC2), a multicenter collaborative quality improvement program in interventional cardiology that has become a benchmark for quality improvement.
