At Footsteps Trust, I have successfully delivered the AQA GCSE Physical Education curriculum to a diverse range of students, many with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs or other complex challenges. I adapt my teaching strategies and lesson plans to ensure all students can access and engage with the material, creating inclusive lessons that promote physical development, emotional well-being, and self-confidence.Drawing on my strong sports knowledge, qualifications, and practical experience, I design lessons that accommodate different abilities and learning styles. This includes differentiated instruction, practical activities, and reflective discussions that help students appreciate health, fitness, teamwork, and personal responsibility. I also implement targeted exam preparation techniques, supporting students to build the skills and confidence needed to succeed despite their challenges.Beyond teaching, I contribute actively to the school community by sharing best practices, participating in professional development, and collaborating closely with colleagues. I value a multi-disciplinary approach, regularly liaising with support staff and leadership to ensure each student receives the academic and emotional support they need to thrive.My main focus at Footsteps Trust is to create a positive, nurturing environment that encourages full engagement, resilience, and personal growth. I am dedicated to helping every student reach their potential by developing their skills, fostering a growth mindset, and promoting a lifelong love of physical activity and healthy living.
