At BHP, he was part of the mine planning optimization team and worked on projects in optimization and simulation. Upon returning to the USA, Maurice took a job with Invision Inc, an advertising sales software company. At Invision, he was responsible for all optimization activities including developing new products, adding functionality, system improvement, and client support.
